Objectives
I have been cultivating my design skills in a number of ways, be it for personal or corporate use. With the variety of jobs and freelance employment that I have found since graduation, I have become quite adept at creating websites and internet applications, though I have and very much enjoy working in printed media. I am looking forward to being part of a creative team, where I can be challenged not only by projects and clients, but also by co-workers.

Skills
In the Visual Communications Department at the University of Oklahoma and since, I have learned a variety of design skills. I am proficient in the use of Photoshop Freehand, Windows, OSX, CSS and HTML; competent with Smarty, Illustrator, Indesign, Works, Word, Premier Flash, the use of Single Lens Refelx cameras, and black and white film processing; and knowledgeable with After Effects, Final Cut Pro, PageMaker, Quark, CorelDraw, Director, and black and white photo printing.

At Oklahoma Interactive, I had many responsibilities, primarily the look and feel of all applications and websites created, including the state's portal: OK.gov. In addition to being the only designer on staff, it was my duty to thoroughly examine each application to ensure not only consistent ease of use, but also that it complied with accessibility laws and w3c standards.

For Unmarked Cars, I created a website powered primarily via social media feeds, so that the band would be able to keep current information posted, simply by staying up-to-date with their social media updates.

2005 The New York Times Broadcasting Company / KFOR

For KFOR I created over the shoulder graphics within Photoshop that were used during the live news broadcasts. In addition I used Adobe After Effects to create story Opens that would air during the news sweeps periods each quarter. I also aided in the branding of station features.

I created a very simple website for Forest Building Materials, with a language that would correspond with their business. Because of the small amount of information needed on the site, I condensed the pages into a single file that toggle the visibility of layers to create the illusion of multiple pages, allowing for a quicker load time.

In this job I edited HTML code, and created new pages that fit into the existing template. I also created a Flash presentation explaining the basic principles of how the JohnDowWho.com interent security system functioned.

This job allowed me to create a logo for a small hip-hop record label from Oklahoma City. In addition to the logo, I created a variety of stationary material and a website template layout. Unfortunately, the record label lost funding and was unable to complete their full visual identity.
